This valve measures 190x26mm overall

This is a liquid counter designed as a substandard for the measurement of isotopes with β-energies above 0.4MeV. It consists of a thin-walled counter tube inside an outer tube which can be filled with approx 10ml of liquid. (Whitehouse, W.J., and Putman J.L., Radioactive Isotopes: an introduction to their preparation, measurement and use, (Clarendon press, Oxford, 1953), p200)
